The Xbox Series X|S, the first of the next-gen consoles to release, will hit retailers on November 10 (at least what’s left of the inventory after the slew of pre-orders).
"The next-gen player builder is all about customization," a blog post from 2K reads. "We've taken in a lot of feedback from the community over the past few years as we've evolved the MyPLAYER building experience. One thing that we heard loud and clear from you is that you want more options."
The professional basketball game will then arrive for the PS5 as a launch title on November 12 in the console's launch markets, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea. The game will then arrive in other markets around the world on November 19 when the console is released in those places. You can see the first NBA 2K21 gameplay on PS5 and Xbox Series X now--it's quite impressive.
That said, the eyes of every 2K fan should be on what will be done with The Neighborhood. I don’t believe that will be the name of the environment, though it might function similarly. 2K has said time and again, they are blowing out the concepts for next-gen, and when you relate that to the current MyCareer concept, a neighborhood seems far too small to contain what appears to be, and has traditionally been an ambitious developer group with powerful new tech.
Last but not least, the biggest news drop will come when 2K unveils the environment and concept that is replacing the Neighborhood. From everything I’ve heard, the idea is massive, and will once again change the game the way the Neighborhood did when it was released in 2017 in NBA 2K18.
